Molly Burhans delivered a guest lecture to the President of The Catholic University of America, Dr. Peter K. Kilpatrick’s, class HSEV206: Energy and Climate Geopolitics, offering students an in-depth look at how geospatial technologies can advance the Church’s mission for sustainable integral development considering environmental stewardship and social justice. Drawing on her work, she illustrated how data-driven decision-making can guide conservation, community development, and ethical land use. Her presentation emphasized the theological and moral dimensions of ecological care, situating GIS as both a scientific and contemplative tool for integral human development in alignment with Laudato Si’.
